Colgate Celebrates 150 and 100 years of Colgate Primary School

13th July 2015

This year Colgate Primary School will celebrate two very important milestones.

2015 marks the 150th anniversary of a school being established in Colgate and 100 years of the school being on our present site, here in Blackhouse Road. We wanted to mark the event with a week of special celebrations.

‘Colgate Commemorates’ will begin on Monday the 13th July and run through the week until Friday 17th July. During the week, the children will learn and explore lots of things in lessons about the school, Colgate and the Victorian age. On Tuesday the 14th July, we will have a  Victorian School day where all of the staff and children will come to school dressed in Victorian outfits. It will be a great day where the  children can experience what it might have been like during that time at school. On Thursday 16th July, we will have a grand tea party out in the playground with special invited past pupil guests. There will be lots of things to enjoy and the County Times newspaper are already booked to cover our story so, watch this space.
