Dave and Pat Stillwell - Special friends

15th July 2015

On 15th July 2015, Pat and David Stillwell joined the school for a special assembly. As part of our 150 and 100 years celebrations, we invited Pat and David to assembly to take a question and answer session relating to being a child at Colgate Primary School over 50 years ago. Pat had come to the school as a child and was able to share funny stories and photographs with us all. Each class had prepared questions ranging from, 'What games did you play?' to 'What punishments did you get?' It was a lovely assembly and we were very lucky to find out such interesting facts about what it was like then compared with now.

We also did a surprise presentation to David because he has just retired from the Governing Body after 29 valiant years service. Dave had been instrumental in securing new accomodation, funding and new teachers over the years and there isn't anything that Dave doesn't know about the school, village and community. Dr Richard Bantin, Chair of the Governors made a speech and we presented Dave with some special thank you gifts. We will miss Dave's input very much but he will remain a special friend to the school.
