Mrs Powell is leaving Colgate

27th April 2016

Mrs Powell is leaving Colgate.

It is with great sadness that I announce that I will leave Colgate Primary School, as Headteacher, at the end of the summer term to take up a new post as Headteacher in a larger primary school in Bognor Regis.

I have had 4 and half very happy years in this wonderful school but family circumstances have meant that I seek a new position nearer to my home in Chichester. I will be very sad to leave but I will leave knowing that the school is in a very positive position with outstanding teachers and staff, highly supportive parents, an interested and active Governing Body together with the best children you could ever work with.

Colgate is a special place with special people who work there. Every single person is dedicated and talented in their role, and they all go the extra mile. The school is a happy and friendly place but its unique character is firmly routed within its family feel and strength of relationships.

The Governors have already begun talks with the local authority to plan my successor and parents will be kept up to date with progress on this as the weeks pass. I am at school until the end of the summer term and I will ensure that it is a particularly great one. Thank you for all of your kind words.

Best wishes

Mrs Kate Powell
